A roof membrane is used to protect the building beneath the roof tiles to stop insulation, timber and other materials from being exposed to damp conditions. The primary role of the roofing membrane is to ensure water can’t ingress into the structure, therefore eradicating the problems of dampness and mould.

The type of membrane, or roof underlay, you choose will largely depend on the structure of your roof and the materials used in the construction stage. For example, timber frame membranes and metal roof membranes are specific to those individual materials and boast different properties.
